If you cannot get into the corners and crevices, use a cotton swab to remove the dirt. After you are sure that there are no visible damages left, get a wet towel and softly wipe down the plates one more time. Clean off any residue around the sides or edges. Let the flat iron dry thoroughly before using it. For best results, you should maintain a clean iron regularly. This cleaning process is recommended at least two times a week.
