How to Clean Your Flat Iron

flat iron
A hair straightener is a necessity for every woman. But it eventually becomes dirty over time and requires intensive cleaning. Hair products also damage the plates and reduce their effectiveness. But it is very important to keep it clean not only because it is bad for the iron, but also because it can damage your hair and cause split ends. Follow the steps below and you will find how simple the cleaning process is. You will need: a sponge, a spoon, cotton swabs, baking soda, hydrogen peroxide and a small dish.
Mix the baking soda and hydrogen peroxide in a dish with a spoon. Then, apply the mix to the ceramic plates with the spoon or with your fingers. Check the flat iron even for the smallest damages. If you cannot get into the corners and crevices, use a cotton swab to remove the dirt. After you are sure that there are no visible damages left, get a wet towel and softly wipe down the plates one more time. Clean off any residue around the sides or edges. Let the flat iron dry thoroughly before using it. For best results, you should maintain a clean iron regularly. This cleaning process is recommended at least two times a week.
